Bluestreak’s MachBlue™ platform brings dazzling graphics and advanced interactivity to a wide variety of video, mobile, and television devices, and its unique, flexible architecture allows it to be easily integrated with low-level hardware, operating system, and software functionality.
The MachBlue development environment is a suite of rapid application design, development, and testing tools that directly integrate and extend Adobe® Flash® authoring tools to create a powerful platform that delivers richer user experiences. Its features include:
- Portability to wide range of mobile, television, and video devices
- Quick creation and rollout of entire device MMIs, as well as applications and services
- Direct preview and publishing to devices
- Testing and debugging functions for SWF applications
- Integrated device templates
- MachBlue PC-emulation player
- Resident hooks to access device functions via simple scripting
Manufacturers use MachBlue to generate new revenues and increase profit margins in a variety of ways, without upfront cost—a distinct advantage of Bluestreak over its competitors.
A mobile phone manufacturer, for instance, can port the MachBlue player to its phones at the request of an MNO, which generates revenues by deploying MachBlue applications to all network subscribers, thereby increasing the sale of the OEMs handsets.
Alternatively, the OEM can sign a contract with Bluestreak to port MachBlue to its phones prior to sale to an MNO, generating direct OEM/Bluestreak revenue from future deployment of MachBlue products to selected subscribers. In this case, the OEM deploys the MachBlue player free-of-charge, and then the OEM receives a distribution cut when an MNO purchases activation keys (e.g., 25 keys for 25 different applications per subscriber, at a cost of approximately 1 USD, depending on the number of keys ordered).
